The Stonemen finish the weekend with a 2-0 record, running the season record to 9-2, with a win over the Lithia by the final score of 13-2 in 7 innings.

Nick on the mound going all 7, giving up 2 earned runs on 6 hits with 1 walk and 3 strike outs. He was in total command the whole game, as he and Dean worked a beauty together. Defense was very good again, as we had 1 error, but made several nice plays to make up for it. Two plays that stand out to me. On 1 play, they hit a high hopper headed for center field, but Nick went up and got it to turn it into an easy out. Another that stood out, a runner on 1st and a ball is hit into the hole between short and 3rd. Ty ranges far to his right, grabs the ball and throws side arm from behind the 3rd base bag to force the runner at 2nd, almost turning it into a double play. Great defense and pitching gives you a chance to win every game.

Nick was on 3 times with a hit and 2 walks, stole a base, drove in a run and scored 2 runs. Donnie had 2 hits including a double, stole a base, drove in a run and scored 2 runs. Ty had a walk and drove in 2 runs. Brett had a hit, scored a run and drove in 2 runs. Dean had a double, a booming 2 run homer, scored 2 runs and drove in 2 runs. Dan had a hit, a walk and scored a run. Troy walked twice, scored 2 runs and played a flawless 1st base. Brodie had 2 hits and drove in 2 runs, and Adam had 3 hits, scored 3 runs and drove in a run.

Next week we have the All Star game, with Nick, Troy, Dean, Brett, Donnie and Ty playing, with Adam as a coach. The following weekend we are off due to a tournament that some of the guys will be in playing for other teams. Our next game is the 22nd at home on a Friday night as we host the Falls Lakers starting at 730. Enjoy the All Star break!
