Monches 0 at Lannon 12
http://www.landolakesbaseball.com/schedule/game/38991

When the new Wisconsin Amateur Baseball poll came out at the beginning of the month many circled this game as it was between the #3 and #5 teams in the Tier C rankings.  For Lannon and Monches it wasn't about ranking but about making a statement against one of the better teams in the league.  Unfortunately for Monches they ran into a Lannon team foaming at the mouth to take advantage of the Country USA bug that bit Monches.   Troy Kenkel was in form and shut down the Monches bats, as he worked a complete game 3 hitter and striking out 9.  Andy Smith for Monches would not receive a similar feet as Smith allowed 12 runs only 2 earned, 9 after 2 outs, and 7 of the 11 hits after 2 outs thanks to 5 Irish errors.  Lannon scored 4 runs in the 3rd, 3 in the 4th, and 5 in the 5th.  Ty Kozlowski continued his torrid base with 3 more hits to raise his average to .609.  Nick Erd, Brett Krause, and Troy Kenkel had multiple hit games for the Stonemen.  Benny Serres, returning from injury, had a multiple hit game for the Irish.

Cory Gasper's Sussex Cardinals knew that last weekend's loss meant little if his Cardinals took care of business from this point forward, especially this weekend.  The first game on that list back into playoff contention was a Saturday matchup against the Five O's of Oconomowoc.  The Cardinals raced out with 4 runs in the first inning and kept scoring on their way to a 7 inning victory.  Travis Thompson was brilliant despite getting drilled with a line drive in the 3rd.  Thompson threw a complete game 4 hitter and struck out 7.  Todd Johnson continued his resurgence in 2016 with a 3 hit, 4 RBI game.  Trevor Wesline and Michael Barnes also had 3 hits for Sussex.  Sam Harmeyer, Ryan Weissman, and Scott Carberry had multiple hit games for the Cardinals.  Jeff Rhoads pitched well in relief for Oconomowoc.

For Johnny Arnold, there isn't much left to prove, yet 2016 has been special for any number of reasons, but his start on Father's Day with his dad in attendance would be one more thing to add to an already great legacy.  After the 3rd out was made in the top of the 9th and his team rushed out to celebrate, Arnold would take a deep breath and try to comprehend that he just threw a no hitter.  Made even more special was his dad was there to see it and they had a special moment after the game that shows just what makes Land O' Lakes baseball in the Western Division so special.  Arnold just allowed just 3 base runners through out the day and nobody past 1st base.  Also getting into the special Father's Day activities was Pat Tobiasz who had 4 hits on the day.  Tim Kahle had 3 hits, and Steve Bartlein had a multiple hit game in support of Arnold.  Tommy Wolf pitched well in relief for the Lakers.

Naturally when you roll in the first game of a double weekend, there's a chance that a team could come out flat in the second game.  Not for the Sussex Cardinals that showed up in North Lake on a mission.  Getting the start for Sussex was Alex Fischer who was dominate for  the Cardinals all day.  Fischer allowed just 2 Lakers hits in 8 innings.  Sussex would score multiple runs in the 3rd, 5th, 7th, and 8th thanks to 3 hit games from Nick Schreiber, Seth Kroenke, and Ben Wilkins.  Wilkins had 5 RBI's on the day for Sussex.  Sam Calmes reached 3 times for the North Lake Lakers.

Oconomowoc arrived to the ballpark looking to shake the ugly result of the day before but unfortunately for them they had to attempt to rebound against a Pewaukee Muskies team that has run the table in every game they played in 2016.  Oconomowoc only managed 4 hits the day prior and that would all they would get off a Pewaukee Muskies staff that has been ridiculously good thanks to one Brian Henschel.  Henchel went 6 innings and gave up just 1 single.  Offensively the Muskies got a perfect 3 for 3 game from Nick Wichser.  Greg Harder, Mike Grabarczyk, and Brandon Werner had multiple hit games for the Muskies.  Austin Hansen was flawless in 3 innings of shut out baseball in relief of Henschel.  Chandler Ziemann pitched well in relief for the Five O's.
