Brookfield Blue Sox 0 at West Bend 7 Up 1
http://www.landolakesbaseball.com/schedule/game/38985

When Johnny Arnold pitches against 7 Up you know that it is going to have the potential to be a great ball game and this game was no different as Arnold and 7 Up ace Tyler Adams dueled to a scoreless battle through 9.  The game was filled with defensive gems and big spots.  Matt Schubert delivered the defensive play of the decade thus far as Schubert ranged to his left on a bullet one hopper hit by Steve Bartlein up the middle, as he ranged towards the right centerfield he fully extended and dove to snare the ball and flipped the ball for the out at second as the bases were loaded with 2 out.  That would be the last serious opportunity either team would have to score in regulation.  In the 10th, pinch hitter Casey Krohn doubled to lead off the inning.  Sam Mattheis would lay down a perfect bunt and the throw from first was wide and struck Mattheis sending the ball into the outfield and the winning run would score for 7 Up.  Arnold and Adams were brilliant.  Arnold went the distance and did not give up a unearned run.  Adams went 9 giving up just 5 hits, Matt Schubert would pick up the win.  Sam Mattheis and Billy Bynum had multiple hit games for 7 Up.

Sussex 6 at Brookfield Bulldogs 7

On a day where clutch base hits and base running would be a plenty, the Sussex Cardinals and Brookfield Bulldogs rivalry added another classic to the book from the past decade.  Travis Thompson fought through some early adversity as he has tried to barehead a play and bruised his hand.   However it was the Bulldogs who were the aggressor early as they jumped out to a 4-0 lead early.  After the teams traded 2 runs in the 5th the Cardinals fought back and tied the game at 6 in the 7th.  The score remained the same until the 10th when Mike Mierow scored on a fielder's choice to score the winning run in the 10th.  Brookfield got a big day from the "retired" Jeff Leuck who despite retiring has not achieved enough atbats to be included in the batting title race had 3 hits for the Bulldogs.  Scott Booth had another multiple hit game.  Nick Schreiber and Sam Harmeyer had 3 hit games for Sussex, while the ageless Todd Johnson and Trevor Wesline had multiple hit games.  Travis Thompson went the distance for Sussex and was the hard luck loser on the da.  Anthony Andres got the win for the Bulldogs with 2 plus innings of sparkling pitching.

North Lake 2 at Pewaukee 12
http://www.landolakesbaseball.com/schedule/game/38987

For the still undefeated and clear cut number one team in the state, having a bulls eye on their backs is becoming second nature.  With the winless North Lake Lakers coming to town, the Muskies knew that taking a game off could spell doom.  Luckily for Pewaukee they have Brian Henschel who just keeps mowing down the opposing batters while the Pewaukee bats keep giving him early support.  This day was no different, except Henschel gave up a first inning run for the first time all season.  Sam Calmes knocked in Zach Swan for the early lead.  Pewaukee would not wait around long to take the lead for good as they took the 2-1 lead after 1.  After 3 run 3rd and 4th innings, the Muskies would cruise to the run rule victory.  Greg Harder had 4 hits for the Muskies, while Kurt Sarcia, Nick Wichser (a double and triple), Mike Grabarczyk, and Brandon Werner had multiple hit game for Pewaukee.   Brian Henschel went 6, giving up just 3 hits, Brady Kais went the last 2.  Sam Calmes had 3 of the 6 hits for the Lakers of North Lake.

West Bend Lithia 6 at Milwaukee 7
http://www.landolakesbaseball.com/schedule/game/38988

After 2 come from behind victories against the Lithia, the Milwaukee Beavers have got to be wondering is if this is the team started out the first 3 games with just 6 hits combined.  But make no mistake, the young Lithia is getting much better and is starting to show the talent they thought they had.  The Beavers would lead 4-0 after 4 but the Lithia climbed back in the game to tie it after 2 runs in the 5th and 6th.  With the Beavers leading 6-4 after 8 the Lithia tied the game thanks to a Sam Michels 2 RBI single.  However as the Beavers have done this season they walked off with the 7-6 win and remain just a game and half out of the playoff chase.  The Beavers got a 3 double game from Justin Barkhurst, and a 3 hit game from Justin Reminger.  The Lithia got a 3 hit game from Ryan Morrison, and multiple hit games from Sam Michels, Andrew Mantz, and Ryan Westenberger.  Joe Lehnerz went the distance for the Lithia.

Oconomowoc 3 at Monches 14
http://www.landolakesbaseball.com/schedule/game/38989

When Monches lost last weekend against Pewaukee, Pat Smith's crew could have let that be a hangover or they could come out angry and take it out on the field.  Unfortunately for Dusty Rhoads and his Five O's the Irish came out swinging in tune to a 11 run, run rule victory that sported a 11 run 3rd inning.  Oconomowoc started out when Jeff Rhoads scored Chris Trafton and Derek Nelson sacrifice fly gave the Five O's the quick 2-0 lead.  It would not last as the Monches would bat around twice in the long 3rd.  Nate Thyssen had 3 hits for the Irish, while Mitch Dubnicka, Buck Konkel, and Corey Mahnke had multiple hit games.  Jeff Rhoads had a multiple hit game for the Five O's.  Andy Smith pitched well for the Irish, going 5 innings giving up just one earned.

Hartland 4 at Merton 5
http://www.landolakesbaseball.com/schedule/game/38990

If a team wants to beat Sam Mulkey, which is difficult, you have to hope that Mulkey isn't throwing strikes, but as Hartland found out, when Mulkey is pumping strikes, he's as difficult as anyone in the league.  Merton jumped out to a 5-1 lead after 3 and then the pitching staffs from both Hartland and Merton stepped up and dominated until the 8th when Hartland scored 3 runs and had the tying run on base.  Fortunately for Merton, Mulkey was able to escape the jam to maintain the lead and the victory.  Landen Gosch had 2 RBI's in his first game with Merton.  Parker Rome and Kurtis Chapman had multiple hit games for Hartland.  Mulkey went the distance for Merton just allowing 1 earned on 8 hits.  Brady Bruss and Carl Mercier pitched well for Hartland in defeat.
