3rd Place Game

(3) Sussex Cardinals 3 at (1) Pewaukee Muskies 6

Both Sussex and Pewaukee knew that if their season had any chance of extending past today that this game was a must win.  The two teams featured 2 of the best pitchers in all of Land O' Lakes baseball in Travis Thompson and Brian Henschel.  The last time that these two met it was on the 4th of July and it was an instant classic.  Today, was not a repeat of that day.  Pewaukee jumped out on Sussex in the bottom of the 1st inning when Nick Wichser continued his hot streak drilling a 2 out solo home run to left field.  The Muskies continued their 2 out rally until the bases were loaded for starting pitcher Brian Henschel.  Henschel's 12 pitch at bat ended with a 2 RBI single.  Sussex cut it to 3-1 in the 3rd when Trevor Westline scored on a RBI single by Tanner Johnson.  Pewaukee answered right back when Brian Henschel had another 8 pitch at bat ended in another RBI single.  The score remained 4-1 until the 7th when Pewaukee scored on a Greg Harder 2 out RBI double scoring Dominick Clementi.  Pewaukee then scored one more in the bottom of the 8th when pinch hitter Jim Kalupa lined a RBI single scoring Mike Ruter.  Sussex made it interesting in the 9th scoring 2 runs on a single by Tanner Johnson and on a wild pitch.  Sussex made it interesting sending the tying run to the plate but Austin Hansen got the strike out to end the game and sending Pewaukee to the Grand Championship.  Greg Harder had 3 hits for Pewaukee, while Dominic Clementi and Brian Henschel had multiple hit games.  Tanner Johnson, Scott Carberry, and Taylor Paepke had multiple hit games for Sussex.

Western Division Championship Game

(4) Brookfield Bulldogs 4 at (2) West Bend 7 Up 8

With both team clinching Grand Championship Berth's last week, both teams were just playing for seeding and pride of being the West Champ.  Brookfield looked to get the monkey off their back of losing to West Bend twice in the regular season.  Things didn't look that good for Brookfield as Billy Bynum began the day of his career with a long two run home run to the deepest part of the ballpark in the first inning.  With the score 2-0 after 3, Brookfield answered back and tied the score in the top of the 4th when Ryan Hinz hit a 2 RBI double that missed going out by inches.  With the score tied at 2-2 after 4 Brookfield took all the momentum and went up 4-2 on a Jeff Lueck RBI single and an Anthony Andres sacrifice fly.  Down 4-2 in the bottom of the 6th, Matt Parrent hit long towering 2 run home run to tie the game at 4-4.  In the bottom of the 7th West Bend took the lead for good, a pair of RBI singles by Casey Krohn and Matt Parrent made it 6-4.  In the 8th, Billy Bynum hit an opposite field 2 run homer that just about reached the mill pond to give West Bend the 8-4 win.  West Bend got 3 hits from Billy Bynum and Matt Parrent, and a multiple hit game from Casey Krohn.  Brookfield got multiple hit games from Ryan Hinz, Bill Gorman, Scott Booth, Patrick O'Brien, Jeff Lueck, and Josh Lemke.
