West Bend 13 at Lannon 16

In a game that both teams wanted to make a statement, the West Bend 7 Up arrived in Lannon with a bunch of unknowns.  Who would pitch and who would play middle infield for West Bend?  For Lannon, it would be shaking off a loss at Pewaukee on Wednesday.  What ensued was a nearly 4 hour battle that saw over 28 hits, 16 walks, and 15 errors.  At the end of the night Lannon played well enough to knock off West Bend from first place.  Lannon got a huge 7 run 5th inning to pace them.  Lannon got a 3 hit game from Joe Erd, and multiple hit games from Nick Erd, Joel Zyhowski, Dean Haase, and Kyle Senft.  West Bend got 3 hit games from Adam Sarauer and Jed Justman, and multiple hit games from Billy Bynum, Austin Sarauer, Casey Krohn, and Ryan Morrison.

Sussex 4 at Brookfield Blue Sox 8

With Sussex hot on the heals of West Bend and Pewaukee for one of the two byes in the divisional playoff, Sussex needed to win out and hope for some help.  Unfortunately on this day, Johnny Arnold was on his game.  The legendary lefty tossed 8 strong innings in the game.  Sussex took the 4-3 lead after 6 but it was Brookfield's bats were white hot scoring 3 in the 7th and 2 in the 8th.  Brookfield got multiple hit games from Nick Rechlitz, Tim Kahle, Pat Tobiasz, Steve Bartlien, JJ Belknupp, Matt McCarten.  Seth Kroenke and Scott Carberry had 4 hits for Sussex.

Pewaukee 15 at Hartland 0

In what many thought could be a trap game for the Muskies of Pewaukee, all they did, was extend their 10 run plus output in a game that secured them a 1st round bye in the divisional playoffs.  Carrying the day was Pewaukee shortstop and perennial MVP candidate Nick Wichser who had 5 hits on the day.  Tom Zimmerman and Brian Henschel had 3 hits a piece for the Muskies, and Brock Guetzke, Trent Borgardt, and Austin Hansen also had multiple hit games.  Mike Grabarczyk dominated on the hill for the Muskies, going the complete game and giving up just 6 hits and striking out 5.  Troy Dibb had a multiple hit game for Hartland.

Brookfield Bulldogs 6 at Monches 3

In the battle for the last 3 playoff spots, 2 of those teams searching for a big win battled to a Brookfield victory.  Both teams likely need at least 2 wins to breath easy and not rely on tiebreakers.  Brookfield used a 5 run 5th to pull away from Monches.  Anthony Andres got his first start for the Bulldogs and impressed.  Andres scattered 6 hits for a complete game victory.  In the win, Brookfield got 3 hits from Patrick O'Brien.  In the loss Buck Konkel had a multiple hit game for the Irish.

Merton 4 at Oconomowoc 7

Clinging to just the slim chance for getting into the playoffs, the Oconomowoc Five O's need to win and out hope for a lot of help.  The Five O's took care of business and beat their rival Merton.  Oconomowoc got a great start from Jordan Murray, who continues his fine season.  Murray gave up just one earned in a complete game victory.  Nick Lenzendorf and Steve Rhoads each had multiple hit games for the Five O's.  Jeff Rhoads, Josh Bouche, and Lenzendorf each hit home runs.  Merton got multiple hit games from Phil Giuffre, Chris Price, Taylor Meyer, and Jake Meyer.

West Bend 8 at Pewaukee 7

The battle for first place in the Western Division took center stage in West Bend for not one but 2 games.  The first game was a rain make up from a game in June.  This game was full of offensive fireworks.  The last firework was a go ahead hit by Ryan Morrison scoring Brett Cramer.  Jonathan Nick pitched well in relief for West Bend.  Zach Biermann had 2 doubles and home run for West Bend.  Casey Krohn, Billy Bynum, Ryan Morrison, and Brandon Mantz had multiple hit games for West Bend.   Pewaukee got 3 hits and 2 home runs from Nick Wichser.  Trent Borgardt had a multiple hit game for the Muskies.

Sussex 4 at Brookfield Bulldogs 3

If you arrived late to Brookfield on Sunday, what you thought you were going to see was a run scoring affair.  After being tied at 3 after 3, both Travis Thompson and Greg Basthemer shut down the opposing offenses.  It wasn't until the 9th inning when Ben Wilkins led off with a double.  After a sac bunt and and great bunt for a single by Nick Ghelfi it was Sussex who got a huge victory on Sunday.  Sussex got multiple hit games from Bryan Laabs, Seth Kroenke, and Ben Wilkins.  Travis Thompson went the distance getting his 9th win of the season.  Brookfield got multiple hit games from Ryan Hinz, Parker Sniatunski, and Josh Lemke.

Brookfield Blue Sox 7 at Lannon 3

The Stonemen know that one more victory should lock up a playoff berth but to win against the hottest team in amateur baseball would be no small task.  To makes things even more interesting, Lannon starter Nick Erd was starting again after throwing just under 180 pitches just 2 days prior.  Brookfield ran out to a 5-1 lead against Erd, and held on to a 7-3 win.  Aaron Leitner won his 6th on the season with a complete game.  Nick Rechlitz, Pat Tobiasz, and Bill Posteluk had 3 hits for the Blue Sox.  Lannon got a 3 hit game from Joel Zyhowski, and a multiple hit game from Nick Erd and Dean Haase.

North Lake 9 at Oconomowoc 10

With the 2 victory's this weekend by the Brookfield Blue Sox, Oconomowoc's post season fate was sealed but that didn't stop the Five O's from getting their second win of the season.  One in which sealed with the return of Luke Nelson to the mound for the Five O's.  Nelson pitched 4 and a third innings for his first victory of the season.  Led in the charge was a 3 hit day from Josh Bouche who hit his 2nd and 3rd home run of the weekend.  Also Jeff Rhoads had 3 hits for the Five O's and a multiple hit game from Chandler Ziemann, Nick Lenzendorf and Forrest Derse.  North Lake got 3 hits from Sam Calmes and Jake Calmes, and a mutliple hit game from Jake Poeske.

Hartland 7 at Monches 8

Monches needed a win in the worst way and either by shear luck or skill the Irish figured out a way to beat Hartland in 13 grueling innings.  It was a seesaw day all around but when Monches scored 2 in the 8th to take the 7-5 lead, many in Monches breathed easy.  But a 2 run 9th gave Hartland new life and the momentum.  After a single, and stolen base by Benny Serres to open up the 13th, Randy Meyer drove him in to end the marathon game.  Brady Bruss pitched great for Hartland going all 13.  Mitch Dubnicka had 3 hits for Monches, and got multiple hit games from Benny Serres, TJ Roberts, Buck Konkel, and Brad Jacob.  Hartland got 3 hit games from Dane Travers, Kurtis Chapman, and Kyle Petoskey.  The Oilers also got a multiple hit game from Troy Dibb.

Pewaukee 8 at West Bend 4

In the second game of the day in West Bend between the top two teams in the standings, the Pewaukee Muskies regrouped from the opening game loss and took it to West Bend.  Pewaukee jumped all over West Bend starter Taylor Koth in the 3rd with a 3 run inning.  Brian Henschel hammered a home run for Pewaukee.  Austin Hansen pitched great in his first start back in quite a bit.  Pewaukee got multiple hit games from Ryan Solberg, Tom Zimmerman, and Trent Borgardt.  West Bend got a multiple hit game from Taylor Koth.
