For one day in mid July, every child's dream was realized for one Brookfield Bulldog player. Eric Ranchau wasn't even in the starting lineup but at the end of this game, he was rounding the bases after a game winning walk off home run giving the Brookfield Bulldogs a much needed win in the Western Division standings. For much of the day in Brookfield, it looked like that the Lannon Stonemen were just a bit flat. Nick Erd pitched a wail of a game. Despite giving up 3 long balls, Erd held the Bulldogs bats in check much of the game. Brookfield had 3-0 lead after 6 when the Lannon bats joined the party. As quickly as Brookfield had the lead it was Lannon who all of a sudden tied the game and then took the lead. It was finally Ranchau who ended it, with the home run to left. Scott Booth continues to make it the summer of Scott, with 3 more hits including his 4th home run. Jeff Lueck had 3 hits as well. Kris Franzen, Bill Gorman, and Patrick O'Brien had multiple hit games for Brookfield. Greg Basthemer had a complete game, scattering 10 hits. Brett Krause had 3 hits for Lannon including a triple. Nick Erd and Ty Kozlowski had multiple hit games for the Stonemen.
